A good shed-removal plan documents the structure, access, connections, contents and material risks before scheduling. The exact details below help turn a rough request into a useful scope.
Create four clear groups
Separate keep, donate or sell, ordinary removal, and items that need special handling. Use a separate weatherproof container for documents, keys and small parts you cannot replace.
Pull out regulated and risky items
Fuel, propane, pesticides, paint, batteries, fluorescent lamps and unknown chemicals should not be left for ordinary structure hauling. Use current city or county guidance for the right collection route.
Photograph built-ins before emptying everything
Shelving, lofts, benches and wall-mounted cabinets affect labor and volume. A quick set of photos preserves that information for the estimator.
Leave the shell stable
Do not remove braces, wall panels or anchors simply to save time. If the shed is leaning or damaged, keep people out and describe the condition when you call.
